PhD student at Gomez laboratory publishes three international peer-reviewed papers with Impact Factor on the Namibian sea environment and fishing activities in 2025.

A Namibian PhD student, Charlene Simataa, has published three peer-reviewed Web-of-Science with IF papers in 2025 alone. On 19 March 2025, “Perception of Key Stakeholders on Current Methods and Technologies Used in Monitoring and Control of Fisheries Activities in Namibia’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)” was published in Aquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems (Wiley) (https://doi.org/10.1002/aqc.70117) .  On July 12, 2025 “Relationship Between the Spatial and Temporal Distribution of Fishing Vessels and the Marine Environment in Namibia’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)” was published in Thalassas: An Intenrational Journal of Marine Sciences (Springer)
(https://doi.org/10.1007/s41208-025-00874-8) ; 
and her last work has just been accepted in Aquaculture, Fish and Fisheries to be published in August 2025, where she reviewed and presented sustainable (or not) management practices.
