Degree
Bachelor of Science (Toyama University, 2017)
Master of Science (University of Tokyo, 2019)
Doctor of Science (University of Tokyo, 2022)
Research Interests
My research focuses on the taxonomy and phylogeny of animals. I study the natural history of benthic marine invertebrates, particularly asteroids (Echinodermata). At the Laboratory of Maritime Environmental Management, I investigate the adverse effects of chemical substances on these organisms.
Message for Students
Marine invertebrates possess a wide range of biological features that far exceed our current understanding. Compared to terrestrial animals and vertebrates, research on these organisms has progressed more slowly and requires considerable effort. However, from another perspective, this field still holds many unresolved questions and opportunities for discovery. If you are interested in studying marine invertebrates, please feel free to contact me.
