平田燕奈教授がPhysical Internet Builder Awardを受賞しました

神戸大学大学院海事科学研究科平田燕奈教授が、今月上旬にフランス・ボルドーで開催された第12回国際フィジカルインターネット会議（IPIC）において、「Physical Internet Builder Award」を受賞しました。

この賞は、相互接続性、持続可能性、協調性を備えた物流システムの実現に向け、優れた研究成果や実践的な取り組み、社会実装を通じてフィジカルインターネットの発展に大きく貢献した研究者・専門家に贈られるものです。

平田教授は、神戸大学のPhysical Internet Labのラボリーダーを務めています。同研究室では、インターネットにおけるデータ転送の考え方を実際の物流や貨物輸送に応用し、物理・デジタル・運用面を統合した貨物ネットワークの高度な相互接続の実現に取り組んでいます。

受賞に際し、平田教授は「この賞は、物流の新たなパラダイムの実現に向けた私たちの取り組みが評価されたものであり、大変光栄です。フィジカルインターネットは、より持続可能で効率的、かつ協調的なサプライチェーンシステムへの根本的な転換を示すものです」とコメントしました。

第12回国際フィジカルインターネット会議には、世界各国の研究者、物流業界の実務者、政策立案者らが参加し、フィジカルインターネットの概念とそのグローバル物流への応用について活発な議論が行われました。

Professor Enna Hirata Receives Prestigious Physical Internet Builder Award

Professor Enna Hirata of Kobe University’s Graduate School of Maritime Sciences has been awarded the Physical Internet Builder Award at the 12th International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC), held earlier this month in Bordeaux, France.

The Physical Internet Builder Award honors outstanding professionals and researchers whose exceptional contributions, innovative research, and practical implementations have advanced the vision of interconnected, sustainable, and collaborative logistics systems.

Professor Hirata leads the Physical Internet Lab at Kobe University. The lab applies the principles of internet-based data transfer to real-world transportation and freight systems, promoting the intelligent integration of physical, digital, and operational logistics networks. Through its pioneering research, the lab is helping shape the future of sustainable and efficient logistics infrastructure.

"This award recognizes the critical work being done to transform logistics paradigms," said Professor Hirata. "The Physical Internet represents a fundamental shift toward more sustainable, efficient, and collaborative supply chain systems."

The 12th IPIC brought together leading researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers from around the world to advance the development of the Physical Internet and explore its applications in global logistics.
