The Training Ship "Fukaemaru"

Training Ship Fukaemaru

The "Fukae Maru" is a training ship, with up-to-date facilities and with a coastal navigating area, built in 1987 as Mitsui Shipbuilding Company (Tamano Branch). The bridge is equipped, not only with modern apparatus, including the navigation general console, but also with the engine control console, thus having a wide area as a console room for both navigating and engineering departments. One of the many features of this ship is a data processing room in the center, which conveys not merely data from the apparatus through LAN system using optical fiber to a micro computer, but also remote control signals to each equipment, thus making it possible to perform experiments, research and survey though this data processing system. In addition to that, a large number of apparatus and systems with the latest electronics technology are adopted. This kind of ship with such a system is called a "high-tech ship", and is expected to answer the needs of the new era and solve any problems which might arise in the course of the students' training, experiments and research, as well as the instructors'.
