Sea Training Center

Refurbished in 1997 with a state-of-the-art full-mission Ship Handling Simulator, the Sea Training Center Carries out research and instruction in seamanship skills, and administers the University's training ships and other smaller vessels. Training offered are rowing, sailing, lifesaving, rope handling, and intramural sea training cruises, etc. The main building of the center is a four-story structure, housing Rope Work Exercise Room, Marine Communications Exercise Room, and the Ship Handling Simulator. Facilities in the Marine Communication Exercise Room include real and/or simulated learning and training facilities of hand flags, international code flags, Morse code, flash light signaling, VHF, INMARSAT, GMDSS, and DSC.
