Assignment to a research laboratory

Special Study (Tokubetsu Kenkyu) is a compulsory subject taken in the fourth academic year. It is connected to a subject, General Seminar (Sougou Zemi), that should be taken in the second semester (or the 3rd and 4th Quarters) in the third academic year. A research laboratory belonged in General Seminar will be successively laboratory for Special Study.

An annual explanatory briefing on General Seminar and Special Study is held around May of the third academic year, in which the details about their research and other matters are introduced. After that, the students visit the research laboratory and then submit an application form to the Administrative Office in which their wishing order of laboratory to be assigned is filled in.
Assignments to research laboratory will be determined in consideration of the student capacity of the research laboratory, the submitted preference order of laboratory to be assigned, the grades, and other factors.
